The owner of Smart Express Bus Company, Arima Mkwamba has openly stated that her family runs a clean business and has never used any juju in her life.
This comes after juju rumours swirled, since the firm’s buses continue to be involved in fatal crashes.
Mkwamba admitted that the number of accidents involving her buses were a concern and went on to blame her drivers by saying that they are reckless.
“We are very disappointed by the wanton loss of lives being caused by the accidents. Our drivers are reckless and we have on many occasions warned them against such driving,” she said.
Meanwhile the Smart Express bus driver who fled the scene after the Rusape accident that claimed 46 lives on Wednesday evening has handed himself over to Rusape traffic police.
Manicaland provincial police spokesperson Inspector Tavhiringwa Kakohwa confirmed the development yesterday saying the driver, Cosmas Marembo had handed himself to the police at around 2pm in the afternoon.
“For now we cannot talk of the charges that he is facing because investigations are still in progress,” said Insp Kakohwa.
The Smart Express firm has donated $10 000 to the bereaved families and the injured.
