Four people who are believed to be members of the same family died on the spot following a horrific head-on collision near Kwekwe. The accident happened on Thursday evening near Redcliff flyover just outside Kwekwe. The spot where the accident occured is regarded as a black spot by the locals due to the high number of accidents which occur there. In fact, in June this year, Redcliff town council is reported to have conducted a cleansing ceremony along the 20km stretch from Hunter’s bridge flyover to Kwekwe bridge flyover along the Gweru-Kwekwe highway.
November has been a bad month in terms of accidents with close to a hundred people losing their lives in numerous road accidents. One of the most horrific accidents resulted in the deaths of almost 50 people after two buses sideswiped near Rusape. Barely two weeks later more than 30 people lost their lives when a Brooklyn Express bus crashed and burned near West Nicholson while travelling to South Africa.
